The 21st century of environmental awareness is here. Join the Earth Kids and become an environmental superhero.
Earth is our home. It’s our responsibility to protect the environment.
Why should I become an environmental Superhero?
- Pollution harmfully impacts our health by causing asthma, cancer, birth defects, learning disabilities, and the extinction of some species.
- Exercise and diet will not keep you healthy if the air, water, and soil are polluted. We need to breathe clean air, drink safe clean water, and eat foods grown in clean soil to be healthy.
- We need to prevent more plastic waste from contaminating the planet. Microplastics are in food and the water supply.
- We need to stop burning fossil fuels that emit greenhouse gases. They are causing climate change.
- We need environmental superheroes to show others how to reduce trash and plastic waste by using reusable products.
- We need environmental superheroes to encourage others to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and use sustainable green energy and products.
- We need environmental superheroes to tell polluters to stop discharging toxic waste into oceans, streams, and lakes.
- We need environmental superheroes to tell big polluters to stop emitting toxic air pollutants.
- We need environmental superheroes to fight climate change.
- We need environmental superheroes to protect wildlife from pollution and climate change.
- A clean environment is necessary for our survival and future well-being.
Environmental Superheroes want to keep:
- Earth beautiful.
- Pollutants out of our air, water, and soil.
- Plastic waste and garbage out of our oceans, off our beaches, and from littering our neighborhoods.
- Toxic air emissions out of our air and prevent unhealthful brown smog.
- Reducing the generation of waste and trash to prevent landfills from covering the planet.
- Trash off the ground and out of waterways.
- Pollution from contaminating our food.
Environmental Superheroes care about:
- CLIMATE CHANGE
- Climate change is a global issue that impacts life on Earth.
- BIODIVERSITY
- Earth’s plants, animals, insects, and microbes are important and must be protected.
- ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
- No community should suffer from the negative environmental impacts caused by pollution.
- We want all communities to stay healthy.
- ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
- We want the environmental quality for life now, and for future generations to be good.
How can I become an environmental Superhero?
Be like Sandy Soil
Sandy Soils says, “We have relied too long on landfills and need to reduce the trash we generate.”
Sandy Soil wants to keep Earth’s neighborhoods, parks, trails, sidewalks, and streets free from trash and pollution.

Be Like Rainey Water
Rainey Water says. “To prevent a shortage of clean water in the future, we need to protect our water supply and conserve water.”
Rainey Water wants to keep Earth’s oceans, lakes, rivers, streams, and aquifers free from trash and pollution. Clean, safe water is a human right. In too many communities, water is unsafe to drink.

Be like Wendy Air
Wendy Air says, “We need to breathe clean and safe air. Let’s work together to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, like carbon dioxide. They contribute to global warming and climate change.”
Wendy Air wants to keep Earth’s air free from pollution. Air pollution not only causes illnesses, but kills people, animals, and plants. Clean air is a human right. Many communities have poor air quality causing health issues for both young and older people.

Why pollution continues to create problems
- People feeling overwhelmed with other priorities is a big challenge for environmental champions.
- Lack of Awareness often implies people don’t bother to learn about the pollution that exists in their community.
- People take action when they learn how pollution impacts the health and well-being of their family, friends, and neighborhoods.
Teach Others
- Never let an opportunity to teach people about the environment pass you by.
- Share environmental books you read or know about with friends and family
- Teach, Teach, Teach
- ACT, ACT, ACT
